Behavioral Health Representative

Job Description

The Behavioral Health Representative (BHR) will work in collaboration with the Behavioral Health Providers to ensure continuity of care.  The BHR is responsible for filtering all BH phone calls, scheduling of the BH appointments, taking non-emergent phone messages in a clear concise and complete manner and transferring emergency calls when appropriate to the Behavioral Health Provider.  The BHR will also be responsible for all referrals made for Tele-Psychiatry services in collaboration with CareSouth Carolina and University of South Carolina.  The duties include:

  • Patient & Employee Relationships: Interact with patients and employees in a respectful and confidential manner consistent with the mission and values of CareSouth Carolina.
  • Greeting: Performs the greeting of patients and other callers in a respectful and compassionate manner.
  • Answering Phones route calls taking messages in a clear, concise and complete manner promptly and courteously in accordance with CareSouth Carolina procedures.
  • Appointment Scheduling - Re/scheduling: Schedule and rescheduling appointment for patient accordance with existing CareSouth Carolina procedures.
  • Protected Health Information/Confidentiality: Maintains compliance with all relevant confidentiality standards including CareSouth Carolina procedures, HIPPAA, and The Joint Commission accreditation standards.
  • Teamwork: Promotes teamwork within the Call Center and harmony with the team.
  • Completes all assignments and signs all documents in Relias and Power DMS promptly
  • Willingly performs other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required, associate degree in Mental Health/Human Services strongly preferred. Mental health experience is strongly preferred.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years experience in field or related field.

 

Hours

Monday-Friday, 40 Hours, Full Time(8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.)
