DILLON, SC — CareSouth Carolina proudly shares the inspiring story of Latasha Friday, a dedicated patient at the Dillon office who has made tremendous progress in managing her health with the support of Haley Jones, FNP-BC.
Through consistent exercise and a healthy diet, Ms. Friday has successfully managed her diabetes and has taken proactive steps in her preventative care by completing both a mammogram and colon screening.
Haley Jones, FNP-BC, emphasized the importance of early detection and preventative care.
“Research studies show breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women, and the risk increases substantially with age. Breast cancer is a leading cause of cancer-related death among women in South Carolina and the United States. According to the SC Cancer Alliance, approximately 2,166 people in South Carolina are diagnosed with colorectal cancer annually, with 829 deaths related to the disease,” Ms. Jones explained.
Ms. Jones praised Ms. Friday for overcoming her hesitation and taking control of her health.
“It is important to make sure patients are fully informed and feel comfortable about completing these screenings,” said Ms. Jones. “Early and preventative screenings help detect any abnormalities that may be cancerous or precancerous, allowing treatment to begin as soon as possible.”
