The Medicare Prescription Payment Plan is a new payment option in the prescription drug law that works with your current drug coverage to help you manage your out-of-pocket costs for drugs covered by your plan by spreading them across the calendar year (January–December).
Starting in 2025, anyone with a Medicare drug plan or Medicare health plan with drug coverage (like a Medicare Advantage Plan with drug coverage) can use this payment option.
All plans offer this payment option, and participation is voluntary.
This payment option might help you manage your monthly expenses, but it doesn’t save you money or lower your drug costs.

CareSouth Carolina is pleased to announce the addition of Kirsten Forinash, LMSW, to its dedicated team of professionals in the Lake View office.
Prior to accepting the position as a Behavioral Health Counselor, Kirsten gained valuable professional experience in various healthcare settings, including a role as a Community Health Educator in Latta, SC, and a Field Internship Placement in Lake View, SC, both with CareSouth Carolina.
Her dedication to patient care and community well-being has also been evident in her role as a Case Manager at Starting Point of Florence, where she helped individuals navigate complex healthcare systems in Florence, SC.
"In the capacity I was in before, I couldn't interact one-on-one with patients at CareSouth Carolina. That prompted me to be able to help more. I wanted to be able to help in a broader capacity," says Kirsten Forinash, reflecting on her motivation to join CareSouth Carolina.
Kirsten holds a Master's degree in Social Work from Winthrop University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Coker College in Hartsville, SC.
One of the key factors that attracted Kirsten to CareSouth Carolina is the organization's commitment to a patient-centered approach. She appreciates the warm handoff process that CSC employs, allowing her to be directly involved with patients, their medical teams, and the wide range of services that CSC offers, all under one roof. This approach aligns with Kirsten's goal of providing evidence-based interventions that truly benefit people.
"Seeing people accomplish their goals that they set for themselves is incredibly rewarding," she said. “I’m looking forward to serving in a larger capacity in this new role.”
In her role at the Lake View office, Kirsten will provide counseling services, further enhancing the comprehensive care options available to the local community.
Outside of work, Kirsten enjoys spending time with her family, watching movies, and traveling.
CareSouth Carolina is home to a nationally recognized Integrated Behavioral Health program, where patients receive quality care by some of the best, most caring professionals in the field of mental health.
