The Medicare Prescription Payment Plan is a new payment option in the prescription drug law that works with your current drug coverage to help you manage your out-of-pocket costs for drugs covered by your plan by spreading them across the calendar year (January–December).
Starting in 2025, anyone with a Medicare drug plan or Medicare health plan with drug coverage (like a Medicare Advantage Plan with drug coverage) can use this payment option.
All plans offer this payment option, and participation is voluntary.
This payment option might help you manage your monthly expenses, but it doesn’t save you money or lower your drug costs.

CHESTERFIELD, S.C. -- CareSouth Carolina will open its newest CSC Community Pharmacy inside the Chesterfield Center at 204 Perry Wiley Way on Wednesday, December 1st.
The CSC Community Pharmacy is a full-service pharmacy that looks to provide excellent care through consultation and affordable prices on prescriptions. The community pharmacy takes all major insurances and is open to all, even those who are not patients of CareSouth Carolina. The Chesterfield pharmacy also has a drive-thru to make things more convenient for patients getting their medications filled.
The pharmacy has four staff members, all Chesterfield natives, who are looking forward to serving their hometown community. Emily Caskey, PharmD, is the Pharmacist-In-Charge.
“This is an opportunity for patients to get their care and medicine all under one roof,” Caskey said. “If any questions or concerns arise, they are handled in-house and right away. This gives you a fast and convenient option for your medicine, but we also want to emphasize that our pharmacy is open to everyone. Even if you’re not a CareSouth Carolina patient, you can still use our services.”
In addition, CSC Community Pharmacies are a part of the 340B Program, which opens the door for a multitude of programs and opportunities to save money.
“CareSouth Carolina is focused on patient care and that’s exactly what the opening of this pharmacy will provide,” Caskey said. “This brings more access to pharmaceutical care to everyone in the Chesterfield community.”
The CSC Community Pharmacy is open from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information, please call 843-927-1030.
